zenzi gadson
Growing up, Zenzi spent many weekends sifting through flea markets and modernist shops with her father. Through her father's love for mid-century art and design, Zenzi began to understand and cultivate the same appreciation.
In 1999, Zenzi moved to Los Angeles and pursue her career as an interior designer. She immersed herself in the L.A. design community by working in high end showrooms, assisting established designers, and gradually securing her own clients and projects. She founded Zenzi Gadson Interiors in 2003, with the desire to create lasting and custom interiors without relying on fleeting trends. She partnered with Justin Maurice in 2005 and shortly after, the pair set up shop in Venice, CA. On most early weekend mornings, Zenzi can still be found searching the aisles of one of L.A.’s many flea markets.

Justin's early introduction to design began outside the classroom. His father was a prosthetic maker, and he would spend hours in his workshop, watching as hands were carved to perfection, with hinges for knuckles that were adjusted to the correct spring and flexion. This was coupled with his time spent on construction sites with his stepfather, studying the progression of residential projects from blueprint to finishing. He understood then that design centered around the constant negotiation between form and function. His early intrigue with form, function, and construction have since melded into his pursuit as a designer.
Justin graduated cum laude from UCLA with a creative writing degree, and worked locally and abroad in film development and production. As he acquired projects building sets for fashion editorials, he realized that a career in interior design may be his true calling. In 2005, he met and partnered with Zenzi Gadson to assist with her expanding client list. Their firm currently services an array of commercial and residential clientele throughout Los Angeles, the U.S., and abroad.
Madeline Coy
Based in Los Angeles, Madeline worked as an entertainment writer and marketing professional for roughly a decade before returning to the world of art and interiors. As the daughter of a gallerist and a graphic designer, her artistic upbringing informed her early design sensibilities and aesthetic instincts. In 2019, Madeline founded Vetiver Interiors, a design start-up that provided interior curation, staging, and furniture rental across Los Angeles.
In 2024, she was hired as a designer for Crate and Barrel before joining Maurice Gadson Interiors full-time. Currently enrolled in UCLA for Interior Architecture, she uses her expanding skills as a designer and project manager for the firm.
Viviana Ziga
As the firm’s lead drafter and project coordinator, Viviana brings our clients’ design visions to life through her invaluable skills and architectural renderings.
